Edgar  Henry Hoops

HOOPS, Edgar Henry - Age 83, of Gaines, was called Home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Saturday, April 29, 2006. Funeral Services will be 12 Noon Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at United in Christ Lutheran Church, G-6330 Corunna Rd., Flint, Pastor Gilbert Mabry officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 AM until the time of the service Tuesday. Mr. Hoops was born August 18, 1922 in Richfield Township, Ohio, the son of Samuel Frederick and Emma Katharine Louise (Fintel) Hoops. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Virginia Harrison on August 29, 1956. He retired from James Lumber in 1984. He was a member of United in Christ Lutheran Church. Mr. Hoops is survived by: his wife Virginia; five sons, Terry and wife Kathy of Colorado Springs, CO, William of Clayton Township, MI, Duane and wife Deborah of Zeeland, MI, Ronald and wife Audrey of Grant, MI, Thomas of Byron Center, MI; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers and five sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother Elroy; and sister, Norma.
