HANEY, Earl Dwayne - age 53, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, February 1, 2016 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Minister Paul Holland officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 3-7 PM Saturday and Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Earl Dwayne Haney Memorial Fund c/o June Weaver. Dwayne was born August 1, 1962 in Anaheim, CA, the son of Thomas M. and June (Crain) Haney. He was a 1980 graduate of Swartz Creek High School. Dwayne was a project manager and engineer with Fabricating Engineers for over 22 years and other engineering firms including, Overhead Conveyor Company and Great Lakes Technology. He was instrumental in many technology upgrades, line changes and model changes at the GM Chevrolet Truck Plant. He enjoyed welding, engineering, building muscle cars, and modified snowmobiles. He also loved music, playing guitar and spending time with his family and friends at his cottage in Higgins Lake. Surviving are: three children, Justin Ellison, Joshua McDaniel and Jordan Haney; grandson, Ian Haney; mother, June Haney Weaver and husband, Gerald "Whitey" Weaver; three brothers, Tom Haney, Jr. of Gladwin, Robert Haney of Texas and Randy (Carol) Haney of Fenton; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas M. Haney. Friends may share an online tribute on the obituary page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
