BARRETT, Earl Cyrus - age 91, of Burton, died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in Zephyrhills, FL. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint with Pastor Roger Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 2-5 and 6-9 PM Friday and 10 AM until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to World Vision, World Hope, Hernando-Pasco Hospice or First Wesleyan Church of Flint. Mr. Barrett was born January 18, 1917 in Detroit, the son of Cyrus Earl and Hazel (Butterfield) Barrett. He was the president and proprietor of Barrett Donut Mixes Company which he founded in 1951. Mr. Barrett was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Flint and served on the Board of Trustees for Indiana Wesleyan University (formerly Marion College) and Owosso Bible College. Surviving are: wife, Esther Barrett; three children, Kenda (Phil) Smith of Flushing, Larry E. Barrett of Montrose, Sharon (Tim) Barrett Mills of Holland; grandchildren, Andrew (Michelle) Barrett, Angela (Darin) Dawson, Barrett and Preston Mills; sister, Helen Worgess; brother, Alton (Dorothy) Barrett; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth and Carl (Marya) Barrett; sister, Thelma (Alvin) Bowman; and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Bronson Barrett. He lived his life with integrity and a faith in God that would encourage others to come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
