MARKS, E. Jackson "Jack" - Age 81, of Fenton, died Sunday, March 19, 2017. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 309 E. Maple St, Holly. Fr. David Blazek celebrant. Burial in St. John Catholic Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday from 4-8 PM where a rosary will be prayed at 5:00 PM and Wednesday at church from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Rita Catholic Church. Jack was born August 2, 1935 in Flint the son of Isiah Carroll and Margaret C. (Bergman) Marks. He married Rita Catherine Goldsmith October 7, 1961 in Flushing and she preceded him in death July 22, 2014. He had resided in Fenton since 1969 coming from Flint. Jack retired from GM Proving Grounds as senior test engineer after 37 years of service. Jack was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Holly. He also was a member of the Fenton Fraternal Order of Eagles and Linden Loose Senior Center. Jack won 1969 & 1970 NHRA US Nationals stock championships. Surviving are: 3 children, Jackie (John) Fultz of Holly, Michael (Kim) Marks of Indianapolis, IN, and Dr. Linda Marks Grant (Mitchell) of St. Louis, MO; 5 grandchildren, Lauren, Alana, John, Nathan, and Rachel.
