Dwight Russell LAWLER

LAWLER, Dwight Russell - age 70, of Grand Blanc, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Genesys Health Park. Services willbe held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Home& Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint with Fr. Steven Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held 6-9 PM Tuesday and 2 PM until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Genesee County Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Lawler was born September 25, 1939 in Franklin County, Alabama, the son of Clyde and Thelma (Cooper) Lawler. He married Jane Ann Kuntz on June 28, 1958. Mr. Lawler retired from General Motors in 2007 after 32 years of service where he was active in U.A.W. Local 659. He also served as the Assistant Treasurer of Genesee County for 12 years. Mr.Lawler was a compassionate man always helping friends and strangers alike. He was a proud family man and always had a smile on his face. Surviving are: wife, Jane Ann Lawler; four sons, Mark S. Lawler and special friend, Athena Green of Clio, David A. Lawler and wife, Dianne of Grand Blanc, Alan R. Lawler of Muskegon, James R. Lawler of Lansing; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Yvonne Quinn; mother-in-law, Eleanor I. Kuntz; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his son, John R.
