JOHNS, Duane Bernard – age 61, of Mt. Morris, died May 14, 2022. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Duane was born November 24, 1960 in Flint, the son of Bernard and Mary (Wolak) Johns. He was a graduate of Flushing High School. He was a Journeyman Millwright who was proud to have worked for I & H Engineered Systems in Grand Blanc and for the last 20 years as a Technician for SC Johnson Company in Bay City where he made many friendships he treasured. Duane was an avid outdoorsman who never missed the chance to be on the water looking to catch the next big one, even creating his own beautiful hand-tied flies. He enjoyed and took pride in his work in the yard and projects around the house. He was an aviation aficionado, who looked for every chance to fly, including in a World War II era biplane. He dabbled in wine making and brewing beer, sharing his creations with family and friends. He loved to travel and masterfully planned the most adventurous and memorable trips. His loving and generous spirit will be deeply missed by his surviving family: the love of his life, Jill Johnson and daughters, Trisha (Mark) Charbonneau-Ivey and Krystle Charbonneau; siblings, Bernie (Kathy) Johns, James (Kay) Johns, Dave Johns and Ruthie (Joe) Long; faithful companion, Buddy, the dog; and his many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents, sister-in-law Trina Johns, and his faithful golden retriever, Jessie.
