Duane Cocke

COCKE, Duane Stanley - Age 83, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Funeral services will be held 12:00PM Monday, March 26, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Dr. Dallas Gatlin officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM until time of service Monday. Those desiring may make contributions to one's choice or Carriage Town Ministries. Duane was born April 25, 1934 in Flint, the son of the late James Luther and Margie Louise (Shinabarger) Cocke. Mr. Cocke enjoyed fishing, deer and bird hunting. He owned and operated Steinhaus Bar in Frankenmuth, Big D Party Stores in Flint and apartment rentals in the Swartz Creek area. Surviving are: son, Gregory (Susan) Cocke of Novi; daughter, Nicole Schmidt of NC; grandchildren, Brandon Cocke, Bret (Kelly) Cocke, Kelsey Cocke; great grandson, Parker James Cocke. Duane is also survived by his Siblings, Donald (Judy) Cocke of Gaines, Janice Lemonds of Goodrich; sister-in-laws, Mary Cocke and Susan Cocke; many nieces and nephews and special friend Debi McCarty. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James Cocke, Jerry Cocke and sister -in-laws, Donna Cocke, Velma Cocke and brother-in-law, Donald Lemonds.
