Simpson, Dr. Roger Charles - Age 78, of Grand Blanc, died April 20, 2022. Services will be held 2 PM Saturday, April 30 at Sharp Funeral Home, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. (The service may also be viewed via livestream from the link on Dr. Simpson's page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Visitation will be held 12 PM until the time of the service Saturday April 30. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Ascension Genesys Foundation, 1 Genesys Parkway, Grand Blanc MI 48439. Directed to the Parkinson's Exercise Program Fund. Roger was born May 20, 1943 in Flint, the son of Teddy Q. Simpson and Ruth  (Miller) Kissel. He married Ruth Jane Wheeler on August 7, 1971 in Pittsburgh, PA. Roger attended Central Michigan University, went on to graduate from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine and continued to practice Podiatry in Genesee County for 50 years. Roger was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Flint, volunteered with Big Brother Big Sister organization and was active with YMCA.

Roger was a longtime member of Warwick Hills Country Club, serving as president in 1992 and a co-creator of the Evans Scholarship at Warwick Hills (a scholarship for caddies.)  He always rooted for the University of Michigan and enjoyed watching the Lions and Tigers. Roger was fond of the game of golf, enjoyed a good game of Gin with his buddies and always loved to dance with his wife.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth; their children, Todd (Trisha) Simpson of Bloomfield Hills, Stephanie (Joshua) Martens of Royal Oak; grandchildren, Gavin Simpson, Shea Simpson, and Hank Martens; siblings, Susan Simpson Gregor (Bill), Christine Simpson Noteware (John), Tedd Simpson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Teddy Q. Simpson and Ruth J. Kissel;  father-in-law and mother-in-law, Burton and Ruth Wheeler.
