SNOOK, Dr. Clair William, Jr. - Age 80, of Byron, died Tuesday, October 26, 2021. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (A live stream of the service will be available at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Pastor Mark Bowman officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery 9:30 AM Friday, November 5, 2021. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 1 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Alzheimer's Association.
Dr. Snook was born April 7, 1941 in Ravenna, OH, the son of Clair William, Sr. and Clarise Lucille (Matchett) Snook. He was a 1959 graduate of Byron High School and he received an Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Michigan State University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He married Mary Lou LeCureux December 4, 1965 in Byron. Dr. Snook was a self employed Veterinary in Byron for many years. He was a member of the Byron Masonic Lodge #80 F.&A.M.; he also was a Shriner. He was an avid pilot and he had built his own plane.
Surviving are: his wife, Mary Lou; daughter, Jessi (Brett) Perlman of Northfield, NJ; son, Clair William, III (Jill) Snook of Dimondale; grandchildren, Lauren Perlman, Michael Perlman, Carli Snook, Jacob Perlman, Grant Snook, and Kara Snook; brothers, Robert Snook of Georgia, Benjamin Snook (Mike Fayfer) of Byron, Bud (Sara) Snook of Tennessee, Denver (Patti) Heiney of Owosso; sisters, Debra (James) Gibson of Tennessee and Darlene (Kent) Carr of Lennon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dessie Myers. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
