Dr. Walter Zell RUNDLES, Jr.

RUNDLES, Dr. Walter Zell., Jr. - age 89, of Fenton, formerly of Flint, died Monday, June 7, 2010 at Caretel Inns in Linden. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held 4 PM Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home. Dr. Rundles was born December 31, 1920 in Detroit, the son of Dr. Walter Z. and Ebba (Korsgren) Rundles, Sr. He was a graduate of Flint Central High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Lieutenant. Dr. Rundles received his Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate Degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. where he also had his residency in Opthamology. Dr. Rundles was an Opthamologist for 40 years in downtown Flint. He was the past president of the Genesee County Medical Society, Michigan Medical Society and a past board member of the YMCA. Dr. Rundles was also a member of the Flint Golf Club and the Flint Central High School Alumni Association. He was a life long University of Michigan football supporter and passionate golfer, achieving every golfer's dream of a hole-in-one at the Flint Golf Club in 1981. Surviving are: wife of 62 years, E.J. Rundles; four children, Janice K. Rundles of NH, Jeffrey W. Rundles and wife, Linda of CO, Christopher R. Rundles of Interlochen, Lindsay R.. and husband, Vic Tatum of Fenton; son-in-law, Randolph P. Piper of Lake Fenton; 19 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. His daughter, Karen R.
