OWOCKI, Dr. Dennis Casimir - Age 87, of Fenton, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023 with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held 6:00 PM Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (A live stream of the service will be available on Dennis's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Fr. David Harvey officiating. Burial will be 12:30 PM Wednesday, February, 14 2024 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held Wednesday at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until the time of the service. Those desiring may plant a tree in Dennis's name or may make a contributions to the Fenton Rotary Club.
Dennis was born October 27, 1936 in Detroit, the son of Casimir and Mary (Skwiers) Owocki. He was a graduate of De La Salle Collegiate High School in Detroit and received a Bachelor's Degree and Doctorate Degree in Dentistry from the University of Detroit where he was a member of the fencing team. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Patricia Vocke July 29, 1961 in Detroit. Dennis had resided in Fenton for the past 59 years. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He was a member and past president of Michigan Academy of General Dentistry, member of the Michigan Dental Association, Master of the Academy of General Dentistry, Fellow of the American College of Dentists, Fellow of the International College of Dentists, member and past president Fenton Kiwanis Club, member and past president of the Fenton Rotary Club. Dennis was a Certified Financial Planner. He was a master gardener. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography and politics.
Surviving are: his wife of 62 years, Patricia; sons, Dr. David (Gretchen) Owocki of Clemson, SC and Michael (Martha) Owocki of Holland; grandchildren, Rachel (Nathan) Holtrop, Ellen (Brandon) Gardner, Marybeth (Joe) Bell and Emilia Owocki; 5 great grandchildren, Drew, Calvin, Layne, Howie and Lewis; 3 sisters, Barbara, Joan and Dolores; and several nieces and nephews.
