Dr. Cranston

Dr. Jay Cranston, retired Appalachian State University Health Center physician, died Thursday, November 6, 2014 at his home. Jay graduated from the University of Michigan - School of Medicine, was a Diplomat of the American Board of Family Practice, and an American College Health Association Fellow. While in the Air Force, he served as Director of Dispensary Services at Ext. Air Force Base. In addition, Dr. Cranston was Director of the Kent State University Health Center. He will be well remembered by his Appalachian State and Kent State athletes. He is survived by his wife, Becky; his father, Claude Cranston, and his sister Susan Garber.Private services will be held at a later date.
