BALDRIDGE, Dr. Odus L., of Grand Blanc, passed away January 19, 2010 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be 1PM Saturday, January 23, 2010 at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 9020 S. Saginaw Rd., Grand Blanc. Fr. George Cleaves officiating. The family will receive friends 12PM Saturday until time of service at the church. Entombment in Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute, Indiana. Visitation will be 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp. Memorial donations may be made to St. Christopher Episcopal Church or Genesee County Humane Society. Dr. Odus Baldridge was born in Terre Haute, Indiana the son of Dr. Odus C. and Margaret (Felding) Baldridge. He attended Indiana State University, Indiana University and Washington University in St. Louis. He completed his residency in Oral Surgery at Henry Ford Hospital. Dr. Baldridge moved to Flint in 1955, opening his practice of oral surgery and continuing until his retirement in 2008. He was a leader in his field, active in many organizations. He was a Diplomate of American Board of Oral Surgeons and a Diplomate of American Dental Society of Anesthesiologists. In addition he was a member of American Society of Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons, Chalmers Lyons Academy of Oral Surgery, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, Genesee County Dental Society, Pierre Fauchard Academy and Great Lakes Society of Oral Surgeons. Dr. Baldridge was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving as an officer and a pilot during WWII. He was also involved in his community, as past Director of the University Club, past member of Flint Golf Club, Warwick Hills, Ocean Reef Club and Pen Key Club. Dr. Baldridge also was a member of the National Skeet Shooting Association, sponsor of Ducks Unlimited and Trout Unlimited. Odie and his wife Susie spent a lifetime fishing for tarpon in the Florida Keys, winning many awards and tournaments. Dr. Baldridge loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He is survived by his wife, Susan Baldridge and many wonderful friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Odus C. Baldridge and mother-in-law, Sybil Stephens.
