AHLANDER, Doyle Bryan passed away on July 10th, 2023, in Flint, MI at the age of 93. He loved volunteering, teaching, traveling, socializing, and dressing well. Doyle was born on September 27th, 1929, in Los Angeles, CA. He was well known as an "adventurous storyteller". Doyle proudly served four years in the United States Navy. Upon Honorable discharge he married the love of his life, Doris Holzhausen in 1955. He was blessed with two children, Laurie Ahlander (Mark Robert) of Pasadena, CA and Kurt (Marsha) Ahlander of Flint, MI. and three grandchildren, Anthony Luckett of Flint, MI, Terra Luckett of Saginaw, MI and Terry (Sara) Ahlander of Ferndale, MI. Doyle served the Flint Community Schools as a teacher for 30 years and volunteered as an avid Boy Scout leader. His contribution to inspiring students and people around him was unmatched. Doyle was also a member of Unity Christian Church where he continued his volunteerism and love of people. He also served as a member of the Rosicrucian Order where he ascended to the position of Regional Lodge Monitor. Doyle was preceded in death by Doris Ahlander (wife) and Gary Hulbert (brother). He is survived by Michelle (Tom) Harms of Colorado (sister), his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends, The Ahlander family would like to thank the Landings Memory Care Unit for taking care of both our Beloved Dole and Doris Ahlander. A memorial luncheon will be held 12 PM Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Unity Christian Church, 3500 W. Hill Road, Flint, MI 48507.
