PAPP Douglas Coleman - age 85 of Flint, passed away on March 4, 2025. He was the son of Mary Ellen and Zolton Papp. A private service will be held at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Douglas was born on September 11, 1939 in Flint, MI, the son of Zolton and Mary Ellen (Hughes) Papp. Douglas was a graduate of Flint Northern High School and worked for General Motors Corporation until his retirement. Douglas was an avid golfer, often attending the Buick Open at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club. Douglas worked at the family drug store as a young man and assisted his family by allowing many of the area residents to charge medicine they could not afford. Papp Drugs was located at Leith and St. John Street in Flint for more than 50 years. Douglas was the grandson of Kolomon Papp, a Flint pharmacist and owner of Papp Drugs who immigrated from Hungary in 1917. Douglas was the proud son to Zolton Papp who was a retired pharmacist and former President of the Hurley Hospital Board of Managers. Douglas was also proud of his well know aunt, former Circuit Court Judge Elza H. Papp. Douglas has a special relationship with his aunt, Ethel M. Papp. Surviving are: daughters, Diana Papp Donaldson (Mark) and Deborah Papp Shaw (Gerry); grandsons, Dylan-Daniel Page (Ashley), David Shaw, Daniel Shaw; granddaughters, Alexandra L. Page and Elizabeth Shaw; great-granddaughters, Everleigh Diana Page, Storey Shaw and Blakely Rayne Shaw. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Fredericka (Ricky) Gist and her family.
