Douglas Mckay

McKAY, Douglas Duncan - Age 82, of Flint formerly of Linden, died Monday April 22, 2019. Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, April 26, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, 209 East Broad Street, Linden with Pastor Mark Cox officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project. Doug was born February 9, 1937 in Flint the son of John and Margaret (MacFarland) McKay. He attended Fenton High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Carol Jean Scully August 15, 1959 in Linden. He retired from Hartland Community Schools, he also had owned and operated McKay's Meat Packing in Linden for many years. Surviving are: his wife of 59 years, Carol; children, Melissa Palazzolo of Byron, Penny (Jerry) Barnett of Maryland, and Joseph (Mary) McKay of North Carolina; 13 grandchildren and one great granddaughter; sisters, Hilda Mosher of Linden and Norajane (Kenny) Dart of Grand Blanc; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John and Robert McKay; sisters, Donna Jean Villerot and Margaret Hartwick. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
