Douglas Alan KOCH

KOCH, Douglas Alan - age 61, of Swartz Creek, died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Hope United Methodist Church, 4467 Beecher Rd., Flint with Rev. Joyce Johnston and Rev. Edgar Owens co-officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Wednesday at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Douglas was born December 7, 1947 in Flint, the son of Charles Leslie and Bernice Mae (Roenicke) Koch. He married Patricia Garland on December 27, 1968. Douglas was a member of King of Glory Lutheran Church and volunteered at Applewood. Douglas loved woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are: wife, Patricia; daughter, Robin (Scott) Cook of Bath; son, Eric (Kendra) Koch of Kent, WA; five grandchildren, Lori, Nathan, Zachary Cook, William and Alexandra Koch; brother, Robert (Judy) Koch of Grand Blanc; sister, Beverley Mazzola of FL; favorite mother-in-law, Bernadette Garland.
