Douglas Gould

GOULD, Douglas Parker - age 67, of Swartz Creek, died Thursday, November 19, 2015 at his residence. Services will be held 11 AM Monday, November 23, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Dr. Gary Glanville officiating. Interment will follow at Bendle Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 PM Sunday and 9 AM - 11 AM Monday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to American Kidney Foundation. Douglas was born June 24, 1948 in Durand, the son of Percy Edward and Leota Mary (Parker) Gould. He was a school teacher in Mt. Morris Schools for 29 years retiring in 2004. Douglas was a member of the Gaines Township Fire Department and enjoyed golfing and going to the casinos. Douglas was very active in the union serving as President of the local MEA and worked with Washington DC on the School to Work legislation and many cooperatives with the UAW. Surviving are: four children, Scott (Shannon) Gould of Lakeland, FL, Rashan (Elmer) Ware of Tecumseh, Brandon (Melinda) Kern of Edon, OH, Jason (Keely) Quinn of Lawton, OK; 10 grandchildren; three siblings, Doyle (Lois) Gould of Flushing, Darlene Carter of Springhill, TN; and Dennis (Carole) Gould of Swartz Creek; uncle, Robert C.
