Douglas D. DINGEL

DINGEL, Douglas D. - Age 74, of Flint, died Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 12 Noon until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Douglas Dingel Memorial Fund. Douglas was born February 27, 1935 in Flint, the son of Harold Charles and Leona Yvonne (Snow) Dingel. He was a veteran of the U.S Army. He married Dorene D. Dahling June 18, 1960 at All Saints Catholic Church, Flint. Douglas had resided in Flint his entire life. He retired from AC Spark Plug after 42 1/2 years of service. He loved to fish and was a avid walleye fisherman on the Saginaw Bay. Douglas also loved to fly radio controlled airplanes and was a member of the Forrest Aviator Club in Otisville. He also was a member of U.A.W. Local 651. Surviving are: wife, Dorene; 4 children, Elizabeth and husband Robert Doyle of Florida, Susan Bloch, Sandra and Matthew all of Flint; 5 grandchildren, Amber and husband Josh Davis, Justin, Jonathan, Adam and Alex; great-grandson, Jace; father, Harold and wife Cleo of Goodrich; sister, Karen and husband George Bancroft; and his beloved dog, Cocoa.
