Douglas Raymond BARDWELL

BARDWELL, Douglas Raymond, age 76, of Flushing, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Rev. Greg Hodge officiating. Visitation will be 12PM Sunday until time of service. Memorial donations may be made to the Children's Miracle Network, Hurley Medical Center Pediatrics. Douglas was born January 25, 1937 in Flint the son of the late Kenneth and Gretchen (Hartley) Bardwell. He married Sandee Agle in Flint on June 27, 1970. Douglas was employed by General Motors until his retirement in 1995 and was a member of the U.A.W. In his free time, Douglas would play Keno at Jack's and Duffy's, took interest in all sports, was a huge MICHIGAN fan, loved the beach, and playing on ATV's. Douglas was a spirited man who was delighted to be a prankster, enjoyed laughing and joking around, but truly found life's greatest joys within his family and friends. He always had a smile and a positive outlook, which brought him through many valleys in his life. He will be missed dearly by all. Surviving are his wife, Sandee; 4 children, Debbie Lara of Grand Blanc, Daniel Bardwell of Flint, Eric Bardwell (Betsy) of San Jose, CA, Brook Visser (Steve) of Flushing; 6 grandchildren, Johnna Lara, Deonna Lara (Greg), Ashley and Autumn Bardwell, Elijah and Lucas Visser; 2 great-grandchildren, Jayden and Isaac; 2 sisters, Janet Hinson of WA, Nancy Gooley (Michael) of Swartz Creek; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
