Walters, Dorothy June - Age 85, of Gaines died June 19, 2019 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, June 22 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, our temporary location, Hill Creek Church, 5363 Hill Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc . Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Friday, 10 AM until the time of the funeral Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Duffield United Methodist Church. Dorothy was born February 2, 1934 in Holcomb Missouri the daughter of Willie Franklin Singleton and Beulah Mae (Merrow) Singleton. She married Richard George Walters on January 16, 1954 in Durand; he preceded her in death April 24, 2010. She had worked as a Vet Tech. for the Swartz Creek Veterinary Clinic. She had also worked as a School Bus Driver for Flushing and Swartz Creek Schools. Dorothy worked for Sharp Funeral Homes for many years. She was a member of the Duffield United Methodist Church, former member of the Lennon United Methodist Church. She had served as the Gaines Township Treasurer. She enjoyed 32 years in Florida in Harbor Cove in her beautiful home on Ideal Street. There she participated in the Grandmothers Club, quilting, Boat Club and bowling. She also served as the Harbor Cove Leaseholder Treasurer. Surviving are: two daughters Terry (Tim) Wheeler of Lennon, Sandra (Don) Niles of Fenton; grandchildren, Jillian Niles (Bob Dedic), Christine (Andrew) White, Tyler Wheeler; great-grandchildren Cruz Wheeler and Henry White; step-grandchildren Karry (Jimmy) Young, Tim (Gwen) Wheeler, Marty Wheeler; step great-grandchildren, Timmy, Karrylyn, Kingsley, Kourtney and Savannah; special friend Roger Talbot.
