ROSSMAN, Dorothy J. - Age 79, of Gaines, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, July 15, 2011 at Gaines United Methodist Church, 117 Clinton, Gaines. Pastor David Wichert will officiate. Visitation will be held 4-9 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make contributions to Gaines United Methodist Church. Dorothy was born March 12, 1932 in Flint, the daughter of Kenneth M. and Edith (Travis) Myers and was a 1950 graduate of Grand Blanc High School. She was married to Loring P. Rossman on July 4, 1952. Dorothy owned and operated Dorothy's Draperies for over 20 years. She then served as the Pastor of Richfield Center United Methodist Church and Otter Lake United Methodist Church for eight years. Mrs. Rossman was a 4-H Leader, a member of Gaines United Methodist Church and the singing group, the Taylor-Tones. Surviving are: husband, Loring; children, Gail Levi, Michele "Mikki" (John M.) Schlaud, Pamela Rossman, Charles (Karen) Rossman; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles and Kenneth Myers; son, Michael Edward Rossman.
