Dorothy Mills

MILLS, Dorothy Louise (Hoskey) - Age 91, of Concord, NC, formerly of Swartz Creek, MI, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020. Private graveside service will take place at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers,  those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

Dorothy was born on June 13, 1929, in Flint the daughter of Henry and Goldie (Harper) Hoskey. She married Rudolph Mills on December 24, 1946 in Flint. Dorothy was a homemaker, raising 6 children. She later would work for VG's and Hudson's as a cashier. Dorothy was a member of the VFW Post 3243 Ladies Auxiliary and the New Haven Baptist Church.

She is survived by her 6 children, Carol Harvey, Larry Mills, Ronald (Cheryl) Mills Sr., Donna (Ed) Sasser, Roger Mills and Roger (Kristen) Mills Jr.; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph Mills; parents, Henry and Goldie Hoskey; 4 brothers, Roylee, Alfred, George and Martin Hoskey; sister, Helen Wilson; son-in-law, Wes Harvey; and daughter-in-law, Jeri Mills. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
