MacDONALD, Dorothy Evelyn (Marsh)- Age 94, of Flint, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint, with Monsignor Richard Groshek celebrating. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek Tuesday from 2-8 PM and at church Wednesday from 10:30 AM until time of service. A vigil service will be held at 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make contributions to Avalon Hospice, 2360 Stone Bridge Dr., Flint, MI 48507. Dorothy was born May 11, 1916 in West Branch, the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Wangler) Smith. She married J. Lester Marsh in 1934 and he preceded her in death. She than married John G. MacDonald and he preceded her in death. She had been employed at AC Spark Plug for 23 years. Dorothy had resided in Flint most of her life. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, traveling and spending time with her sisters. Surviving are: 4 children, Barbara and husband Russell Hall of Flint, J. Lester and wife Sharon Marsh of Manistee, Jon Marsh of Flint and Gary Marsh of Flint; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Gwen Frank of Linden and Madeline Buchko of Florida; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Kathy Dowland of Flushing. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, William and Gerald Smith and 5 sisters, Genevieve Wright, Jacqueline Candy, Loretta Lehman, Joycelynn Rogers and Virginia Ballard; special friend, Roy Dietz.
