Dorothy Jean LONG

LONG, Dorothy Jean - Age 74, of Flint, died Thursday, February 11, 2010 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, Swartz Creek, with Pastor Paul Ytterock officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 2-9 PM and Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Dorothy Long Memorial Fund. Dorothy was born October 2, 1935 in Flint, the daughter of Raymond and Belva (Wheeler) Middleton. She was a 1953 graduate of Flint Northern High School. She married Harold W. Long November 14, 1953 in Flint and he preceded her in death November 4, 1986. Dorothy retired from Chase Bank (Genesee Bank) after 35 years of service and was currently working for VG's. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Flint. Surviving are: daughter, Sheri and husband Jim Szabo of Flint; son, Gary and wife Alane Long of Swartz Creek; 5 grandchildren, Leah and Aaron Szabo, Christina and Jaimie Long and Alexandra Long; 2 great grandchildren, Aidan and McKenna.
