Dorothy Johnson

JOHNSON, Dorothy -- of Swartz Creek, died at home on September 18, 2017. Services will be held 11 AM Saturday, September 23 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Dr. Gary Glanville officiating. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Friday and 10AM until time of service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions to the St. Jude Children's Hospital. Dorothy was born November 23, 1920 in Blackpool England the daughter of Robert and Ellen (Johnson) Chalmers. She married Kenneth Johnson on June 23, 1945 in Blackpool England, he preceded her in death on August 7, 2005. She was a member of the Linden Chapter #175 O.E.S. She was a member of Swartz Creek United Methodist Church. Dorothy enjoyed bowling and was a member of the 300 Club. She enjoyed baking, and also donated her time knitting for hospitals for premature babies. She is survived by daughter, Vivian (Larry) VanNorwick of Swartz Creek; grandsons, Kenneth (Jennifer) VanNorwick of Bloomfield Hills, Colin VanNorwick of Flint; 4 great grandchildren, Grace, Kathryn, Faith and Noah; sisters in law, Amy Johnson, Virginia Johnson; many nieces and nephews.
