Dorothy M. HARRIS

HARRIS, Dorothy M., age 91 of Burton, died at home on Friday, December 11, 2009. She was born in Flint on December 12, 1917 the daughter of William and Mary (Garner) Hesling and has lived all her life in the Flint area. She married Charles Harris on December 14, 1935 in Flint and he preceded her in death in 1994. Mrs. Harris was a secretary in the Kearsley School District for 14 years. She was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Flint. She enjoyed reading, music and singing. Surviving are her four children: Dottie Peterson of Flushing, Carolyn Whitman (Pete)of Alabama, Grace Ranger (Ron) of Goodrich and Charles Harris (Joyce) of Davison. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, sister, Helen Peterson, brothers, William Hesling, James Hesling (Trudi), sisters-in-law: Grace Guzak, Evelyn Harris, brother-in-law, Olen Ham, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Minnie Buytas and her husband. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 14th at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church 4323 Davison Rd. Pastor Pat Stybert will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc Twp from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 13th and Monday at the church from 10 A.M. to service time.
