Dorothy Grable

Grable, Dorothy C. - Age 92, of Flint, died October 24, 2018 at the Landings of Genesee Valley Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, October 30 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint, Rev. Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating. Interment in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Monday, 10-11 AM Tuesday . Those desiring may make contributions to Calvary Community Church. Dorothy was born December 19, 1925 in Flint the daughter of Harry and Bertha (Coulter) Bates. She was a graduate of Flint Central High School. She married John R. Grable in 1946; he preceded her in death in 1979. Mrs. Grable was a longstanding member of the Calvary Community Church. She had worked for Carman Ainsworth Community Schools. She loved watching the Detroit Tigers. "She was the best mother and grandmother in the world." Surviving are: three daughters, Connie (Dave) Carpenter of Iron Mountain MI, Karen Forbes of Flint, Joan (Mike) Hutchins of Flint; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Garnet Bates; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; four sisters; son David Grable; great-granddaughter Kharma Steffy; great-grandson Connor Forbes.
