DERUS, Dorothy Eugenia - Age 80, of Fenton, died Monday, July 6, 2009 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Friday, July 10, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton with Rev. Fr. David Harvey, celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights. Visitation will be held 6-8 PM Wednesday and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. A scripture service will be held 7 PM Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to masses. Mrs. Derus was born March 17, 1929 in Detroit. She was employed by Cadillac on Clark St in Detroit and NBD Bank (Chase). Mrs. Derus previously attended St. Hedwig and was currently a member of St. John where she was active in Applefest She enjoyed collecting dolls and was an avid Detroit Tigers and Red Wings fan. Surviving are: daughter, Deborah (Gregory) Brown of Flushing; sister, Katherine Kogowski of Westland; several nieces and nephews and dog, Tobey.
