CONROY, Dorothy Eileen - age 93, of Gaines/Byron, died Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Shiawassee County Medical Care. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, 118 E. Lord St., Gaines with Fr. Robert McKeon celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a rosary will be prayed 6:30 PM Tuesday evening. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund. Mrs. Conroy was born July 9, 1914 in Gaines, the daughter of John and Laura (Borst) Cooney. She married Leo Garrett Conroy on September 7, 1931 in Angola, IN and he preceded her in death on June 12, 2003. Mrs. Conroy was a dental assistant for Dr. Smith for many years. Mrs. Conroy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving are: daughter, Lauretta Bradley of Durand; two sons, Bob Conroy and wife, Nola of CA, Dennis Conroy and wife, Virginia of Holland; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Her parents; two sons, Joseph Michael and James Edward; four sisters, Evelyn, Nellie, Mary and Marjorie and five grandchildren also preceded her in death.
