DAY, Dorothea Ileane - age 95, of Fenton, died Thursday, April 23, 2015. Services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at St. Jude Episcopal Church, 106 E. Elizabeth St., Fenton with Rev. Heather Barta officiating. Interment will follow at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Visitation will also be held 10 AM - 11 AM Tuesday at the church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to St. Jude Episcopal Church or Reverence Hospice. Mrs. Day was born October 25, 1919 in Canada, the daughter of John Meredith and Eleanor (Milton) Gray. She married John A. Day in 1941 and he preceded her in death on February 3, 1981. Mrs. Day was a Licensed Practical Nurse retiring from Grace Hospital in Detroit in 1981. She enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her Millpond Manor friends. She loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are: two daughter, Sandra Train of Clawson and Nancy Day and husband, Ed Ransley of Fenton; three grandchildren, Michelle, Erik and Ashley; four great-grandchildren, Blake, Alexa, Haley and Macy; sister, Grace Douglas of Toledo. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Lawrence John Day and his wife, Cheryl Day; three sisters and one brother.
