Doris Lorraine LANNIGAN

LANNIGAN, Doris Lorraine - Age 57, of Burton, died Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at McLaren-Flint. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Friday, May 4, 2012 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Dr. David Bowser officiating. Burial will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Doris L. Lannigan Memorial Fund. Doris was born February 8, 1955 in Flint, the daughter of Ernest and Mae (Williams) Curey. She was a 1973 graduate of Carmen High School. She married Winston R. Lannigan January 8, 1975 in Arkansas. Doris had worked with mentally and physically handicapped children for 26 years. She was a Boy Scout Leader and had volunteered for many charities and activities. Surviving are: husband, Winston; son, Curtis Yorks and fiancee Heather Kyser of Burton; 2 grandchildren, Zachary and Skylar Yorks; 3 sisters, Diana Michael of Durand, Karen and husband Marvin Martin of Flint and Ellen Curey and Jim Horton of Montrose; 3 brothers, Lawrence and wife Jackie Curey of Bancroft, Ernest Curey Owosso and Dennis and wife Cheryl Curey of Missouri; several nieces and nephews.
