Doris Lahar

LAHAR, Doris Mae - age 60, of Mackinaw City, formerly of Mt.Morris and Swartz Creek passed away December 8, 2019. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, December 14, 2019 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek. Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant. Visitation Friday 2PM - 8PM at Sharp Funeral Homes Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek and 10 AM Saturday at the church until the time of  Mass. Scripture Service 7PM Friday. Those desiring may make contributions to the family c/o Sharp Funeral Homes.

Doris was born August 3, 1959 in Flint, Mi., the daughter of LeRoy and Pearl (Barette) Cornelius. She was a graduate of Swartz Creek High School and Mott Community College. Doris was a LPN at Medi Lodge of Cheboygan and a Unit Clerk at McLaren, Flint and Comprehensive Pain Specialists, Flint. She was a member of  St. Anthony Catholic Church in Mackinaw City where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a Minister of Communion to the homebound. Per Sr. Chris Hearld since joining St. Anthony in 2016 Doris was an active member of St. Anthony's Council of Catholic Women. She was " the quiet person who came in during the week to refill welcome envelopes in the pews." "For being here just three years she made an impact on our lives and will be missed." Doris enjoyed traveling, baseball and football. She also liked crocheting and needle point. Doris is survived by her children; Debbie Lahar, Daniel Lahar and Josie Beardslee; siblings, Mearle (Christine) Cornelius, Gary (Ann) Cornelius, Theresa (Craig Hansen) Cornelius, and Karen Metcalfe; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by; her parents and husband, Thomas Lahar.
