Doris Evalean Krieger

KRIEGER, Doris Evalean - of Fenton, Michigan, loving mother and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025, at the age of 89. 

Doris was born October 18, 1935, in Lincoln County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Willie Bell and Eva Tye Bell. She grew up in the rural mountains of Hamlin, WV, as one of ten children, the proud daughter of a coal miner. After graduating from Hamlin High School at the age of 16, she began her career at Owens Illinois glass company in West Virginia. She moved to Flint, Michigan, in 1959, and soon after began working for General Motors Chevrolet Metal Fabricating as a secretary. She later continued her education at Central Michigan University, while working as a Worker's Compensation Administrator for General Motors. She and her family were very proud of her achievement in obtaining her BA in Business with High Honors in 1978. She retired from General Motors in 1990. 

Doris was preceded in death by her loving husband and sweet companion, Carl Krieger, in 2014, whom she had married in 1981. 

Doris is survived by her daughter, Angela Egner (Mark), her son Michael Bloch (Ruth), her step children Karla Krieger, Jennifer Venegoni (Bob), Kurt Krieger (Sherry), Kristie Ulery (Rich), and Karen Schmitz (Ken), her dear grandchildren (Alyse, Adriel, Dane, Casey, Chad, Angela, Eric, Marc, Lauren, Olivia, Cooper, Mikala, and Alex Jo) ,and great grandchildren (Arlo, Louis, and Nora). 

As one of ten children, Doris is also survived by her loving sisters Betty Barcus, Alice Triplett, Nellie Gay Adkins, and Ollie Mae Dailey, as well as her sweet brother Eddie Bell, all who reside in West Virginia. She was preceded in death by brothers Jack Bell, Donald Bell, Larry Bell; and her sister and best friend Wilma Honaker, who also resided in West Virginia. 

Per her wishes, she will be cremated and be interred with her dear husband Carl who passed in 2014. There will not be a public memorial service. Arrangements are being handled by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton, Michigan.
