DEMPSEY, Doris Jean (Buche) - Age 62, of Linden, died Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Providence Hospital, Southfield. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, April 23, 2010 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St, Linden, with Pastor James Mascow officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 5-8 PM and Friday from 10:00 AM until time of service. Those desiring may make contribution to the Spartan Marching Band, College of Music Advancement Office, Michigan State University, 105 Music Building, East Lansing, MI 48824. Doris was born October 12, 1947 in Muskegon. She married David D. Dempsey March 17, 1967 in Greenville. She had resided in Linden for the past 32 years coming from Flint. Doris retired from Chase Bank after 35 years of service, she then worked as a recess aide for Linden School's. She was an avid bowler, bird watcher and MSU football fan. Surviving are: husband, David D.; son, David Scott and wife Melissa Dempsey of Forest Park, IL; grandson, Isaac Dempsey; mother, Eva Buche of Greenville; special niece, Anna; brother, Mark Buche of Belding; 3 sisters, Pattsy and husband Jim Scofield of Gowen, Penny and husband Alan Fitzner of Cedar Springs and Darlene and husband Jim Beecham of Lansing; several other nieces, nephews and friends.
