BALLGE, Doris Ann - of Burton, age 87, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Atherton United Methodist Church, 4010 Lippincott Blvd., Burton, MI with Pastor Bruce Billing officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 1 PM - 2 PM Sunday. Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m.- 8 p.m. Saturday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd, Flint. Memorial contributions may be made to Atherton United Methodist Church. Doris was born in Flint on December 9, 1930, the daughter of the late Vern Dwight and Mattie (Wallace) Boies. She graduated from Hoover High School in 1949. Doris married her true love, Norman Allen Ballge, on August 14, 1949 and he preceded her in death on September 18, 2011. Doris was an active member of Atherton United Methodist Church; singing in the Choir and serving as the Mission Chairperson. She was also a member of the Burton V.F.W. Post #2777 Ladies Auxiliary, Does # 222. Doris was actively involved with the Girl Scouts for over 50 years, was President of the Hoover All-School Reunion, was an avid bowler and served on the Senior Bowling Board of Directors. She was a member of the Carman-Ainsworth Hall of Fame for Softball. Surviving are: children, Pamela Jean (David) Kimber, Ramona Marie Miron, Roxanne Dale (Kevin) Winkeler and Nicole Ann (Robert) Wiederman; grandchildren, Danyle Murray, Joshua (Jessica) Miron, Angela (Mustafa) Koprucu, Kathryn Miron, Crystal (William) Jensen, Lauren (Joshua) Jimerson, Matthew Winkeler, Allison and Simon Kimber, Sydnie and Brendan "Norm" Wiederman; great-grandchildren, Dylan, Greta, Elijah, Madalene, Otto, Nathanael, Torunn, Alexander, and Mollie; Larry, Bob, Joe, Susan and their families; brother-in-law, Dale Ballge; many nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends, Harlan and Donna Ramsey, Peter Gammans, Jonathan Smith, Shane Barry and Gus the cat. She was preceded in death by her son, Norman Allen Ballge II; sisters, Betty Milhorn, Janet Thompson, and June Lawrence. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
