Dora A. Frey

Frey, Dora A. - passed away on Jan. 21, 2007 at Madison Valley Hospital, Ennis Montana.  Dora was born on Sep. 13, 1917, in Flint, Michigan to Frank L. and Mayme M. (Jaynes) Powell.  She was the second of three children.  Her mother died when she was three and her grandmother helped raise her.  During her teen years, she lived with her aunt and uncle, Marjorie and Albert Kauffman.  Dora graduated from Flint Central High School in 1935.  She then worked as a comptometer operator at Fisher Body. She married Charles O. Frey on Dec. 30, 1939, in Bowling Green, Ohio. They had two children: James C. Frey and Marjorie J. (Peggy) Frey. Dora was a homemaker and stay at home mother.  She was active in the PTA during her childrens early school years. She designed and sewed clothes for her family. Dora remained an avid reader throughout her life.  She loved the home she and Charlie built in 1953 and lived there until his death in 2002.  Dora then moved to Ennis, Montana to live with her son Jim and his family.  She lived for the last two years at Generations Assisted Living in Ennis. She is survived by son: Jim and wife Judie, Ennis, MT; seven grandchildren: Tracey (Frank) Reineke of Louisville, KY, Joseph Frey, New Albany, IN, Heather (Marc) Richards, Ennis, MT, Thomas Hancook, Rockford, IL, Richard Frey, Robert Frey, Flint MI, and Kelsie Frey, Ennis, MT: five great grandchildren Savannah, Kaleigh, Evan, Anthony, and Kaydence; brother-in-law: Frank Frey; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Charlie, her beloved husband of 67 years. Her parents, her brother Frank L. Powell, Jr., her sister Pearl Holmes and her cherished daughter, Peggy, also preceded her. Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007, at Sharp Funeral Home, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 26 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Madison Valley Hospital Building Fund, Ennis, Montana 59729.
