Donzie Wood

WOOD,  Donzie E.,age 84 of Burton, died Sunday, December 30, 2007 at Hurley Medical Center.  Mr. Wood was born on January 12, 1923 in Flat Top, West Virginia, the son of Posey and Clara (Lawson) Wood. He came to Michigan in 1947.  He was a Die Maker with General Motors Corp for 31 years, retiring in 1981.  Mr. Wood was a veteran of WWII and was a member of the Davison V.F.W. Post #4087 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 3814 in Burton.  Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Dement and husband Mike of Davison, son, Bobby Wood and wife Tammy of Grand Blanc along with 4 grandchildren; Ian Dement, Jennifer Henderson, Sarah Owens,Jeremy Wood and 5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 brothers,  Orval Wood and wife Pauline , Bernerd Wood and wife Freida and a sister, Nola Lane.  Mr. Wood was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Sarah in 1992.  Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M.Friday, January 4, 2008 at the Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Grand Blanc, Twp.,  burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.  Visitation with the family at the funeral home will be Thursday from 1:00 P.M. to time of the service.  Memorial gifts in his name may be offered to the American Cancer Society
