Donna Snavely

SNAVELY, Donna Beryl - Age 95, of Linden, died February 7, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Sunday, February 12, 2017, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Visitation will be held 4-7 PM Saturday and from 11 AM until the time of service Sunday. Donna was born October 14, 1921 in Altoona, PA, the daughter of Arden Blair and Bertha (Treese) Shaw. She was married to Thomas E. Snavely on August 26, 1942; he preceded her in death on October 30, 1991. Surviving are: children, Thomas (Sharon) Snavely Jr. of Williamsburg, PA, C. Richard (Carol) Snavely of Williamsburg, PA, Donna Morgan of Forksville, PA, Robert Snavely of Forksville, PA and Carl (Dana) Snavely of Fenton; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Blair (Joyce) Shaw. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Jean Snavely; brothers, Luther, Elwood and Alford Shaw; sisters, Grace Hess and Betty Leathers. Donna was an active member of Linden Presbyterian Church for many years. She had served as a Deacon, was involved in the Bell Choir and CROP Walk, taught Sunday School, Bible Study and was a member of Stephen Ministries. She worked as a Playground Aide for 26 years at Linden Community Schools, where she was fondly remembered as "the Tic-Tac lady". Donna attended Mott Community College, studying Art, Writing and Journalism. Donna was also a reporter for the Linden Leader for several years. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed painting, sewing and crafts. She also enjoyed her time at Loose Senior Center, where she was known as "Little Donna"; line dancing, helping with meals and baking many pies.
