SMITH, Donna M. (Gamber) - Age 65, a resident of Swartz Creek, was Promoted To Glory Wednesday, March 24, 2004. She was born on October 19, 1938 in Flint, the daughter of Elmer C. and Eva  L. (Pelch) Gamber. She had lived in Gaines Township the past 36 years coming from Flushing. She was a graduate of Flushing High School in 1958. Mrs. Smith had been an Avon Salesperson for 18 years, and was a member of the Avon Presidents Club for those 18 years. She was a member of the Salvation Army Flint Citadel Corps where she had sung in Songsters. She was also a member of the Band League of the Flint Citadel Band. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Genesee Valley Two Cylinder Club, member of the Great Lakes Oliver Collectors, and a member of Marriage Encounter of Genesee County. Her hobbies were photography and travel. She was a caring and devoted wife, mother and sister. Surviving are: her husband, Richard Jim Smith;  two sons, Ronald and wife, Mary Smith of Nottingham, MD, Timothy A. Smith of Swartz Creek; daughter, Sheila M. Smith of Auburn Hills. Also surviving are: 3 sisters, Ilene Knoodle of Flushing, Gloria and husband, Bob Rouse of Elkmont, AL, Dianne and husband, Tim Miller of Flint; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents. Services will be Saturday, March 27, 2:30 PM from the Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, Swartz Creek, Major Ralph Bukiewicz will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd. from 7-9 PM this evening and from 1-4 and 6-9 PM Friday and on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of service. Memorial gifts in her name may be given to the Salvation Army Flint Citadel Band or Songsters. Friends may share their online condolences with the family at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
