Donna Neal

NEAL, Donna Violet -- Age 86, of Flint, died March 16, 2015. Services will be held 2 PM Friday March 20 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 1 PM until time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Donna V. Neal Endowment Fund at Interlochen Center for Performing Arts 400 Highway M137 Interlochen MI. 49643 Donna was born May 10, 1928 in Detroit, the daughter of John Edgar and Violet Beatrice (Jarrell) Neal. Donna attended Mercy College of Detroit and then became a member of the American Association of Medical Record Librarians in 1951. She started her career at McLaren in 1952, She was very active professionally. Donna served as Treasurer and President of the Michigan Medical Records Association. Donna retired from McLaren in 1990 as Vice President of Informational Services. She was a founding member of Friends of Music for U of M Flint Music Department. She volunteered with Big Brothers and Big Sisters. She was a strong supporter of Interlochen Music Camp. Surviving are: sister-in-law, Hideko M. "Jean" Neal; Nieces, Tina J. Neal, Gina M. Zook, Kathy Sole, Peggy Fraze, Donna Pollock, Mary Ann "Kiki" Neal- Norton; 7 great - nephews and 2 great-nieces; and many dear friends, including Susan Danz, Judy McGinn, Judy Noye, Dorothy Broomfield, Cleo Silver, Howard Young, Rosemary and Don Ingraham, Karen VonDaggenHausen and Carla Morris. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Douglas Edgar Neal and John Jarrell Neal; aunt and uncle, Pansy and Irwin Tilton; and friends, Bonnie Young and Carolyn Mawby.
