Donna was born October 19, 1933 in South Bend, Indiana, the daughter of Verdis and Elinor (Johnson) Fox. She worked in secretarial and sales support for many years for different companies.She raised her family in Grand Blanc, moving with her husband Charles Lyman to N. Ft Myers Florida for more than 30 years. In recent years she returned to Grand Blanc to be closer to her family.
The most loving mother, Donna lived for her two daughters, sharing in their every success, supporting through adversity, always encouraging. As a role model she instilled in them the importance of family, a moral compass, unconditional love and how to live their best lives.
A lifelong skilled bridge player, she was always up for any card game and board games, enjoying newspaper word puzzles and computer games as well. An avid reader, she was never without her Kindle, providing recommendations of favorite books she’d discovered. Donna was known for her dazzling smile, enthusiasm and positivity. She made friends easily, always kind, thoughtful and fun to be around.
A Christian throughout her life, she was a gentle soul with a generous spirit. She was a long time member of First Congregational Church in Grand Blanc. For many years Donna volunteered for Hope Hospice in Ft Myers Florida. Fiercely independent, classy, compassionate and loyal to the end, she leaves family and numerous friends who will miss her, never forget her and are better for having known her.
Surviving are: daughters, Laura (Nelson) Wolfe, and Lisa (Nelson) Daenzer (husband Michael Daenzer) ; grandsons Alan Daenzer and Erik Daenzer.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Norman Nelson; husband, Chuck Lyman; sister, Karen Nolan, and son-in-law Spencer Wolfe .
