LINDSTROM, Donna Lee (McCoy)  Age 63, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, December 20, 2004 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held 1-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday, December 23, 2004 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Make-A-Wish Foundation. Mrs. Lindstrom was born November 8, 1941 in Flint, the daughter of Cecil Jacob and Nellie Rose (Kintner) Paxton. She married Richard Lindstrom April 15, 2001. Donna served on Swartz Creek City Council from November 1984-November 2002, was a very good and understanding Mayor of Swartz Creek from November 1986-November 1996. She had great pride in the City of Swartz Creek and was involved in as many activities as she could be. She served on the Planning Commission from January 1987  January 1999, Swartz Creek Area Fire Department from April 1982-September 1984 and April 2004  December 2004, Swartz Creek Beautification Committee, Swartz Creek Downtown Development Authority from September 1986-February 1988, Swartz Creek Home Town Days, Volunteered for RSVP and Swartz Creek Senior Center and was a member of the Swartz Creek Red Hat Society. She loved children and helped start the Swartz Creek Camp 911 for children with the DVA Ambulance, which has since become Swartz Creek Police Camp 911. Donnas experience included working as a bookkeeper, a waitress, an ambulance medical technician, race track betting booth operator, and an assisted living cook at an area home, just to name a few positions. While working she continued her education and obtained her dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. Donna enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, boating, playing cards and bowling. As her health declined she still enjoyed activities and friends. She loved animals and with the help of her step-son, Daniel found thrill in bringing new animals and reptiles into her home. Donna was a great cook and loved to try new recipes. She also enjoyed going to restaurants and trying new dishes. Donna opened her heart to all children and fostered a number of children who otherwise would not have had a mother who cared deeply for them. When she married Richard Lindstrom, she became Daniels step-mom. She had great love and pride in Daniel and cared very deeply for him. Surviving are: husband, Richard Lindstrom of Swartz Creek; two step-daughters, Veronica and husband, John Seibel of Swartz Creek, Jennifer and husband, Brian Brown of Cohoctah, MI; step-son, Daniel Lindstrom of Swartz Creek; Scott, Laurie and Nicole Anderson, who she cared for as her own children; numerous grandchildren; two sisters, Jackie and husband, Jim Loper of CA, Norine and husband, William Ladd of Livonia; brother, Gene Paxton and wife, Carol of FL; numerous nieces and nephews; close friends, Joanne Holmquist, Korene Kelly, Tonya Ketzler, Sally Simpson, Mary and husband, Don Niles, Joyce Thompson. She was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Delores Wilson; three brothers, Jerome Bud, Delvin and Roderick Paxton.
