Donna Jean GIBSON

GIBSON, Donna Jean (Morgan) - age 76, of Fenton, died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Fenton Health Care. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM Friday, April 12, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Rev. Don Neuville officiating. Donna's family and friends may visit beginning at 3:30 PM Friday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society; Birmingham, AL Children's Hospital; Avalon Hospice or the Fenton United Methodist Church. Donna was born August 20, 1936, the daughter of Virgil and Leota Morgan. She graduated from Linden High School in 1954. On June 5, 1954 she married Howard Gibson in Milford. They were inseparable for 58 years. Donna retired from GM Proving Grounds in MIlford where she was an executive secretary. She was a member of the Fenton United Methodist Church. Donna was a fiercely devoted, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved creating elaborate and detailed parties for the whole family! She had a "green thumb" and had a huge vegetable garden for years. She won the Fenton Beautification Award for having such beautiful flowers in her yard. Surviving are husband, Howard of Fenton; children, Candi Gibson-Rogers of Memphis, TN, Melani (Gibson) Johnson of Cantonment, FL, Holli (Gibson) and husband Dan Poyner of Fenton; grandchildren, Daniel (Lara) Poyner, Cameron Poyner, of Fenton, Nicholas and Haley Johnson, of Cantonment, FL; great-grandson, Zachary Johnson of Cantonment, FL; siblings, Donald (Jane) Morgan of OK, Gary (Kathie) Morgan, Betty (Floyd) Schmidt, Marianna Sigafoose, all of Perry, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Zachery Johnson. Donna will be greatly missed. Her generosity, kindness and warmth have touched all she met.
