Donald Tithof

TITHOF, Donald E. - Age 80, of Bancroft, died Thursday, January 3, 2019. Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Jim Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Those desiring may make contributions to First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek. Donald was born July 15, 1938 in Chesaning, the son of Laverne and Mary (Krizan) Tithof. He married Mary Alice Santos January 31, 1959 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flint. He had resided in Bancroft since 1978 coming from Fowlerville. Donald retired from VanAgen Sod Farm in Bancroft after 40 years of service. He was a member of the American Gold Wing Association. He attended First Baptist Church of Swartz Creek. Donald was a farmer and a devoted family man. He loved nature and was an avid hunter. Surviving are: his wife of 59 years, Mary; 6 daughters, Debra Tithof of Lansing, LeAnn (Ray) Stokes of Durand, Karen Tithof of North Carolina, Katherine (Dwight) Akin of Howell, Renee (Michael) Trevorrow of Milford, and Ericka Tithof of Lansing; 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Marianne) Tithof of Florida, Kenneth (Lorrie) Tithof of Florida, Elaine (Randy) Hughes of Columbiaville, and Mildred (Robert) Delay of Swartz Creek; several nieces and nephews; and his extended family, the VanAgen's He was preceded in death by his parents.
