Donald Thorpe

Thorpe, Donald Keith - Age 69, of Flushing, died April 16, 2017. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Saturday, April 22 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Committal services will be held 10 AM Tuesday April 25 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday, 10-11 AM Saturday. Those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warrior Project. Donald was born July 25, 1947 in Flint the son of Donald K. and Lauretta D. (Tracy) Thorpe. He was a graduate of Davison High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Don married Donna Newcombe on June 26, 2004 in Holy. He retired from Buick in 2006 with many years of service. He enjoyed hunting with the guys at the Lone Pine. Surviving are: wife Donna; two children, Daniel and fiancee Kathy of Saginaw, Dana Humphreys of Swartz Creek; son-in-law Chad Humphreys; former wife Diane Bortle; grandchildren Austin, Logan, Morgan, Jeremiah, Joshua; great-grandson, Dawson; sisters, Suzanne Deringer, Mary Tracy, Margaret Thorpe and wife Julie Sturgis; many nieces and nephews.
