STOCKWELL, Donald L. - age 66, of Fenton, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Fenton. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Friday and 12 PM until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to The Fireman's Memorial in Roscommon, MI. Mr. Stockwell was born June 4, 1943 in Pontiac, MI, the son of Jack E. and Phylis June (Knibbs) Stockwell. He married Rosetta Hanks on March 4, 1967. Mr. Stockwell retired from General Motors Fire Department in 1996. He has been a fireman for over 30 years serving on Brandon Fire Department, Fenton City Fire Department and Pontiac Motor Fire Brigade. He was the past president of the Genesee County Fire Fighters Association and served on the Honor Guard. Surviving are: wife, Rosetta; two children, Gregory (Ruth) Stockwell of Fenton, Karen (Scott) Latham of Gaines; three grandchildren, Christopher, Tonya and Annesia; two great-grandchildren, Stephen and Aislinn; sister, Janet (William) Moore of Houghton Lake; sister-in-law, Teresa Stockwell of MA.
