Donald Henry Moench

MOENCH, Donald Henry- Age 83, of Texarkana, TX formerly of Flint, died Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at his Home.  Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.  Rev. Gerald Palmer officiating.  Burial in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-9PM Friday and from 12 Noon until time of service Saturday.  Mr. Moench was born February 7, 1923 in Wessington Springs, South Dakota, the son of Henry and Elsie Faye (Ceder) Moench.  He married Jennie B. Allen February 27, 1942 in Flint.  He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army.  He was a Life Member of Texarkana V.F.W. Otis Henry Post and was a former member of the Swartz Creek V.F.W. Post #3720.  He retired from Buick after 31 years of service.  He is survived by: wife, Jennie; 3 children, Elmer Donald and wife Carol Moench of Flint, Ronald and wife Zella Moench of Flushing, Jennie Moench of Swartz Creek; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; brother, James and wife Kathy Moench of Millington; sister, Norma and husband Gerald Palmer of Arkansas; many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Moench; daughter, Judith Ann Schmieder; 2 sisters, Aletha Gilbert and Dephane Dowdy.  Tributes and condolences may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
