MOBLEY, Donald Ray - Age 89, of Canton formerly of Linden, died Monday, July 1, 2019. Services will be held 11:30 AM Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St, Linden. Pastor Mike Norton officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Donald was born May 16, 1930 in Flint, the son of Charles and Lucille (Griffin) Mobley. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Michigan University. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He married Geraldine Smith January 17, 1953 and she preceded him in death August 16, 2014. He retired from the Flint Community Schools as a teacher. Donald was a member of Linden Presbyterian Church. He also was a member of the Michigan Education Association, National Education Association, American Federation of Teachers.
Surviving are: daughters, Cheryl Young of Chesaning and Susan (Michael) Norton of Canton; grandchildren, Jeremy, Nathan (Katie), Timothy (Amanda), Leah (Stephen), Taylor (Amanda), Austin (Erin), and Jordan (Jennie); great grandchildren, Ellie, Gemma, Calvin, Charlee, Lynnlee, Otto, Cally, Dean, Matthew, and Lucas; brother, Jack Mobley of Suttons Bay; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Mobley; and sister, Alice Krom. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
