MERRILL, Donald Richard - age 64, of Fenton, died December 28, 2021. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, January 14, 2022 at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton, MI 48430 with Rev. Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, MI 48430 and from 10 AM - 11 AM Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society. Donald was born May 24, 1957 in Flint, MI, the son of Francis and Joanne (Friedl) Merrill. He was a retired Lieutenant with the City of Fenton Police Department and had served as interim Police Chief. Surviving are: siblings, Pamela (Paul) Peabody of Fenton, Jeff (Jenny) Merrill of Lewiston, and Lisa (Doug) Schultz of Fenton; nieces and nephews, Joe Myers, Jenni (Matt) Shaw, Kaitlyn (Carlos) Sims, and Shawn (Natalie) Hall; many great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
